In the past year, MPI has expanded its international presence in order to provide improved service and support to the company’s customers.
New bases have been set up in Chile, Canada and Scotland to provide on-the-ground support close to MPI (Multi Pump Innovation) customers.
In Puerto Montt, Chile, MPI has set up a new business unit – MPI Chile – that is dedicated to providing lifecycle services for all MPI customers in Chile. The unit consists of a team of mechanics and a spare parts warehouse, which ensures that customers of MPI have the local support they require.
In Canada, MPI serves fish farmers on both the east and west coast of the country. MPI’s in-house mechanic is available to provide support to anyone that requires technical assistance, while MPI’s local authorised dealer, Innovative Pressure Systems (IPS), offers both spare parts and service to all Canadian fish farmers on the west coast.
On the west coast of Scotland, MPI has set up dedicated hubs at the sites of two of our customers, Marine Harvest and The Scottish Salmon Company. In practice, this means that these customers have MPI net cleaning equipment, technical support and spare parts available quite literally on their doorstep. It is an ingenious way of maximising operational uptime while simultaneously lowering the customer’s capex requirements. To serve the UK market a local, UK-based mechanic is also employed.
“Although a lot of issues can be solved remotely, sometimes you need a swift spare part delivery or urgent on-the-ground support. ‘All business is local’ is a well known slogan from the 1980s, but it is just as relevant today. Going forward I expect MPI to further strengthen our operations in Chile, Canada and Scotland, plus to add more locations to our growing international network. Watch this space,” says Kåre Myrvåg, CEO of MPI.
